COREM - Collective Remembrance
The COREM project "Collective Remembrance: Engaging Youth Through Curatorial Practices" aims for an epistemological shift toward intergenerational knowledge to “know differently” about 20th century genocides, connecting past and present in meaningful ways. It highlights how participatory practices can position children and cultural institutions as active agents in shaping historical understanding, while also reflecting on the ways in which young people are imagined and instrumentalised in the context of political and state violence. The project places European children at the centre of its activities, engaging them in workshops at key institutions. As we witness an ongoing genocide being perpetrated by the state of Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza, we acknowledge the crucial relevance of these histories of genocide as lessons and tools for the struggle against the crimes against humanity of the present.
